Whenever someone wants to join a group they must ask themselves a few qustions, like....Is this for me? Why do I want to follow this path? what motivates me to want this responsibility?

 

All of these quesitons are great to ask yourself when embarking on a lifetime of learning, studying, experiance and knowledge that is taught in a Sosyete (House).

No one person has all the answers and you can always learn something new everyday from anyone no matter how skilled or unknowledgable a person is.

In our house we strive to encourage others to experiance the best they can through rituals, serving the spirits and honoring God and our Ancestors. If you are chosen by the spirit to be a leader, it is your decision to take that responsibility. You can just as well serve in a lesser manner and still follow your own eclectic path (although the spirits may bug you til you do what you're called to do). Yes, the spirits are patient and loving, but when it comes down to business, they do not play about vows and promises. Never committ yourself to something you are not completely aware of and don't let someone into fooling you into buying intitiations- They are frauds and cons looking to take your money and give you very little in return.

 

More things to think about; Never decidate yourself to something you're not willing to do for life! that is a good rule of thumb when joining any Religious group or organization that will require you to have great responsibility. Be sure that you are fully aware of the training you will recieve and have a good working relationship with your spiritual mother and father. What the expectations are from both the student and the teacher.

 

After you have asked yourself all these quesitons and you have decided that this is for you, you may join the group on our facebook page; Children of Ginen.

To start, Introduce yourself, post and ask questions about anything and everything you'd like to understand more clearly or ask how other's found their path. There are a lot of pagan documents and Doc.files on the files section for you to read and also information about vodou as well. You are welcome to have and state your own opinion of subjects dealing in paganism and Vodoun as long as they're not bashing or threatening to any path. That is not tollorated.

 

Vodou is a lifestyle, its been around since the beginning. It is a very ancient and traditional religion it takes years, if not a lifetime to learn and still not know everything about it.

I will go ahead and tell you that you will not learn vodou from one or even two dozen books out there- that's not to say that there isn't valuable information to be had. When a serious student is ready to have a reading or join as a dedicant materials and more in depth information will be shared upon membership. Both parties will agree upon the terms of the responsibilities and bi-laws of the Sosyete.

 

Never let anyone influence you to join a group or belief system that you are not comfortable with. We do NOT sell initiations here, nor do we do make-shift rituals! That is disrespectful of the house and those who run it!!

When you Kanzo in our house you will leave knowing what you need to know to participate and further your path in Haitian vodou ceremonies and be part of a family, not just another dollar in the pocket! We are a growing community and every member is important for the growth and education process in our area.
